What if the Church structure and hierarchy was not almost an exact replica of that of the world? What if we actually looked for Jesus in the scripture rather then trying to write ourselves into it? What if our place of sustenance was our local church...and our spiritual leaders were pastors, elders and teachers instead of singers and musicians?

I pray that, in the church we would stop looking to people; in the Body, we would stop making celebrities; in God’s House we would stop trying to build man’s Babel.

Is it just me, or is the Church starting to look like a pyramid - with big names at the top…and everyone else at the bottom? Church is not supposed to be a reflection of the world. We are supposed to look like a community…a Body - with Christ as the ONLY Head…where we all need each other in order to properly function. When we don’t function like this, is when the Body gets sick.

Are we not supposed as Christians, to look to Christ and His Word FIRST?…not to the latest word from the “prophet” or the newest revelation from the “apostle”. This is a form of idolatry and is causing a sinful stain in the Body of Christ.

This has been weighing on my spirit for a very long time…a Tower of Babel has been inadvertently built in God’s House…largely through the elitist and worldly practices of what has been coined the New Apostolic Reformation*, and through man-made ideals like the unbiblical “seven mountain mandate”. However genuine their beginnings, they have become monuments of pride to the glory of man…They have erected a pyramid right there, in the House of God…and these “apostles” and other members of the “five-fold ministry” have placed themselves on the top.

This is one of America’s most dangerous exports to the global Church…it is bringing a terrible reproach on the Name of the Lord, and leading many to fall away.

And still…”If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (2Chronicles7:14)

Just as a final note: If Church were a pyramid structure, where would Jesus Christ be? - Read Ephesians 2:20. We’ve got it all upside down and we need to set it right.
